A very helpful concise history of evangelical theology that is particularly useful to get a sense of the contours of its roots and shoots and present day tensions. I especially appreciated reading the last chapter to get a feel for a number of current controversies within evangelicalism.

Historian Mark Noll’s cry of the heart for evangelicals to reject its history of anti-intellectualism and to get on with repairing the problem.
